This is a freephone number which gives you all the information you might need about this disease, transmitted by mosquitos, which first appeared in Reunion in 2005. There is no cause for panic, but it is preferable to be familiar with the symptoms so that you can consult a doctor if necessary. Avoid contact with stagnant water, use electric anti-mosquito devices, protective creams and lotions and mosquito nets : all sensible advice that will prevent you being bitten.
