About AdmiNet

The aim of AdmiNet

General principles

• Whenever an official information source is available on the Web, a prior link is set to it. transcription is made to the Web as soon as possible.
• In the other case, an attempt is made to find another source on the Web
• When both fail, other electronic or even printed matter are collected and a transcription is made to the Web as soon as possible

Note that public information is obviously often freely available, although frequently only on printed papers.

Some restrictions

• No confidential nor copyrighted information should be accepted.
• Any information source should be explicitly stated whenever not clearly evident.
• In a few cases (e.g. logos) a mention is made of restricted use of the information.
• In accordance with the French legislation "informatique et libertés" , no mention should be made of individual information without agreement of cited people.

The history of AdmiNet

Christian Scherer is a worker of the French Ministry of Industry. He first collected a lot of non-confidential information, in order to offer it for free public consultation through the Net. in order to offer it to free public consultation through the Net.

The AdmiNet project received encouragements of Jean-Paul BAQUIAST, the former Secretary of the french Comité Interministériel pour l'Informatique et la Bureautique dans l'Administration who created the French AdmiRoutes association. It was decided to offer versions in three languages simultaneously, namely, English, French and Spanish.

During April '96, a new front page was developed for AdmiNet by Christophe Baubert and Arnaud Ventura).

We had discussions with La Documentation Française which recently opened its own site, AdmiFrance AdmiFrance, whose aims are strongly related to AdmiNet's aims.

AdmiNet is an open work. Everyone who agrees with above principles and want to work with or simply join our " little Internet community" is pleased to help. Just send an e.mail, or give new URLs, or even ... send a diskette !
