INC HEAD MEETS CHAIRMAN OF SENATE FOREIGN RELATIONS COMMITTEE

WASHINGTON, DC (11 June, 1998):

Dr. Ahmad Chalabi, President of the INC Executive Council, met today with Senator Jesse Helms, Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Sen. Helms said that he would support the Iraqi National Congress in its goal of removing Saddam and his regime.

Dr. Chalabi briefed Senator Helms on developments inside Iraq and the Iraqi opposition's struggle to remove Saddam's dictatorship. Dr. Chalabi thanked Sen. Helms for his role in the Congress' recent support for the democratic Iraqi opposition and the goal of democracy in Iraq.
