Surface contaminants (micro-organisms,dusts, chemicals) are often critical problems in industry. This innovative, industrially demonstrated sampling technique is far more efficient in yield and reproducibility than other existing techniques. Other surface contaminants sampling techniques exist (petri boxes use, smear or scratching techniques). They suffer 2 main drawbacks : if a bacterial biofilm is formed onto the surface, it is not analysed properly by the techniques, and surfaces that are not totally glossy can not be analysed properly. The efficiency of the technique is more than 90% and reproducibility about 100% against 0,1-10% for the other techniques. Surface of wood, concrete or unpolished metal surfaces can be analysed.
