Subject: Information session on the European Union preparation for the WSIS

COMMUNIQUE

Information Sessions on the WSIS preparatory process

The Permenant Mission of Greece in Geneva, through the intermediary of 
the CSD / WSIS Executive Secretariat, is inviting all civil society 
entities present in Geneva for the afternoon information session to 
attend an information session on the involvement and state of play of 
European Union Member States in the Summit preparatory process. This 
session will be held in Geneva (Council Secretariat, 2 Chemin Louis 
Dunant) on Monday 23 June from 10:30 to 12:00. All participants should 
register in advance at wsis.csd@ties.itu.int  

This timing was set in order to target the same audience expected to 
participate in the information session to be organised by the President 
of the Prepcom, Mr. Samassekou, at 15:00 on the same day.  This latter 
session was originally intended for the UN Permanent Missions in Geneva, 
however, Mr. Samassekou has expressed the wish to see civil society 
participation.  Civil society entities who have the possibility to 
attend both information sessions (EU at 10:30 and WSIS at 15:00) next 
Monday 23 June are very welcome to do so.

Sessions d'information sur le processus préparatoire du Sommet

La Mission Permanente de la Grèce à Genève, par l'intermédiaire  de la 
DSC / Secrétariat exécutif du SMSI, invite toutes les entités de la 
société civile présentes à Genève pour la session d'inforamtion de 
l'après-midi à une séance d'information sur l'implication des Etats 
Membres de l'Union Européenne dans le processus préparatoire du Sommet. 
Cette séance se tiendra à Genève (Secrétariat du Conseil, 2 Chemin Louis 
Dunant) le lundi 23 juin de 10h30 à 12h00. Tous les participants sont 
priés de s'annoncer au préalable à l'adresse suivante: wsis.csd@ties.itu.int

L'horaire de la réunion a été choisi afin de cibler le même public qui 
participera à la séance d'information qui sera organisée par le 
Président du Prepcom, M. Samassékou, à 15h00 du même jour. Cette 
dernière réunion était initialement prévue pour les Missions Permanentes 
auprès de l'ONU à Genève;  cependant, M. Samassékou a souhaité la 
participation de la société civile.  Les entités de la société civile 
qui ont la possibilité de participer aux deux séances d'information (UE 
à 10h30 et SMSI à 15h00) le lundi 23 juin prochain, seront les bienvenues.
