charge to define and to implement the Graphics User Interface which will

different parts of the system, and that permit the data exploration with
multidimensional multivariate visualisation methods.
Market and geographical data providers will be in charge of data
modelling, management and procurement. It included also the realisation
of the data normalisation and geocodification works. It is planned to
develop a prototype for each end-user partner inside the Consortium.
Therefore, each end-user will be participates in the systems requirement
collections and in the validation, customisation and test tasks of their
prototype.

PROPOSAL NAME : A Framework for Developing Integrated Information
Processing Services

ABSTRACT:
To become truly pervasive, information technology must transcend being
merely manufacturable and commonplace. It must become intuitively
accessible to ordinary people and deliver sufficient value to justify
the large investment needed for the upcoming information
infrastructure.
Technologies such as WWW and Java have taken the first giant step
towards this direction, by addressing satisfactorily the problem of
unified and hardware independent access to processing of information.
Now the challenge is to build upon such technologies and provide the
means to create integrated information services by organizing and
structuring information data and various aspects of information
processing.
The goal of this consortium is to provide a set of ready to use software
components and their interaction mechanisms (i.e. a framework) that will
allow service providers to develop easily and in a timely manner
environments that will support information processing services for the
general public, and for a variety of application domains. The
effectiveness of the proposed framework will be demonstrated by
developing environments that support processing services in three
different application domains: image processing services, workflow
processing, and Integrated Development Environment (IDE) services (we
could substitute at least one of these areas with an area of interest
to the new partner).
